Join us for a day in our yurt learning how to preserve all of the amazing produce that you have put so much effort into growing.


We look at the multitude of ways to preserve your foods, including:

Jams and chutneys

Fruit leather

Dehydrating techniques


Salting and curing



Freezing and vacuum packing

Storage - including clamping and sand boxes


We will make jam, chutney, use dehydrating techniques to produce intensely flavoured dried fruits (perfect for with your breakfast granola), produce a fruit cordial and salt and cure a piece of belly pork for bacon. 


We will discuss all of the different methods of preserving and the equipment that you may need.


Courses include tea, coffee and pastries on arrival, a glorious lunch then tea, coffee and cake in the afternoon.


You will take home your piece of belly pork to finish off curing at home, jam, chutney, recipe cards and hopefully a big smile and huge sense of achievement!


Courses run from 9:30 - 16:30


The atmosphere is relaxed, the delivery enthusiastic and the content both enjoyable and educational.

  • We know that things can happen and sometimes you need to cancel a booking or rearrange the date. We will always do everything we can to accommodate this. Our cancellation and refund policy is below.


    Cancellation seven days or less before the event – no refund (however, please see Attending in Place below).


    Cancellation more than seven days but less than six weeks – we will try and sell the space. If the space is sold we will issue a voucher for the same value to be used at an alternative date. Administration fee of £15 charged.


    Cancellation more than six weeks in advance we will transfer you to an alternative course of the same value at no additional cost.


    Attending in place

    Friends and family will be allowed to attend in place of a course participant provided 24 hours notice is given.
