ABOUT US

Taste the Good Life is run by Dom & Tegan from a beautiful 5 acre smallholding in Gloucestershire. Our courses are designed to be fun and informative, each based around a recipe idea or theme and pulling together one or more aspect of smallholding life. We teach our courses in a yurt that we built ourselves, set in a small patch of ancient woodland and surrounded by the rest of the team (which typically comprises sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, bees, horses, dogs, cats, stray cows from the neighbouring farm and the odd free range child). We are mad about growing and eating incredible food and absolutely love teaching others how they too can taste the good life.

With 15 years of smallholding experience between us, we have faced most of the challenges that come with smallholding (including chasing rams through a field in a tuxedo and coaxing escaped goats down from the roof) . Dom has ten years experience in Head of Food and Product Development roles for a chain of coffee shops. Tegan is the animal whisperer and is an experienced events co-ordinator.

On our holding we maintain a 1 acre kitchen garden that provides much of our fruit and veg. We raise pigs and sheep for meat and goats for milk. The bees keep us in honey and the chickens keep us in eggs. We're not entirely self sufficient but we are all about making the most of whatever space is available to grow incredible ingredients and turn them into delicious things to eat.

To make sure that you get the most from the day we keep our course numbers limited to ten people. Every course includes refreshments and an awesome lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed, the delivery enthusiastic and the content both enjoyable and educational. Hopefully we'll see you here soon
