Join us for a day in our yurt learning how to preserve all of the amazing produce that you have put so much effort into growing.

We look at the multitude of ways to preserve your foods, including:
Jams and chutneys
Fruit leather
Dehydrating techniques
Jerkey
Salting and curing
Crystallising
Fermentation
Freezing and vacuum packing
Storage - including clamping and sand boxes

We will make jam, chutney, use dehydrating techniques to produce intensely flavoured dried fruits (perfect for with your breakfast granola), produce a fruit cordial and then salt and cure a piece of belly pork for bacon.
​
We will discuss all of the different methods of preserving and the equipment that you may need.
​
Courses include tea, coffee and pastries on arrival, a glorious lunch then tea, coffee and cake in the afternoon.
​
You will take home your piece of belly pork to finish of curing at home, jam, chutney, recipe cards and hopefully a big smile and huge sense of achievement!
